Murrayfield
Stadium History
The ground had been purchased from the old Edinburgh Polo Ground at Murrays
Field in 1922 for a sum of £3800.
A new-look Murrayfield was opened in 1994 by the Princess Royal, after a
redevelopment costing £37million.
These days the stadium has a capacity of 67,500, with the popular terracing
removed because of new safety regulations and demands for all-seater stadia.
